The Manual Handling Training provides the knowledge, skills, and techniques to carry out people moving and handling activities in a safe manner both for yourself and the person. You will learn about building and maintaining robust moving and handling systems as an integrated part of their larger health and safety management systems. You will know how to carry out an individual risk assessment, use equipment safely, reduce the likelihood of developing musculoskeletal disorders and always keep your service users’ comfort and safety at the forefront. You will know how the musculoskeletal system can get injured. You will be able to identify risk factors associated with people handling. This course reduces the risk of future injury from manual handling but does not remove the need for risk assessments or adequate supervision.
